Within 24 hours the linens were already being put to use. Opportunity Place Executive Director, Debra McDaniel informed us just hours later that, “Volunteers [had] gone through almost all of it and some had already been distributed.” The lines will be used on site in the shelter and also given to some of the women and families to take with them once they secure their own housing. On December 18, 2015 Five Star Properties had the opportunity to make a donation of 1,795 pounds of linens to Opportunity Place. Opportunity Place is a Non-Profit that provides short-term housing for women and families without homes. Single women can are provided housing for 45 days and families can stay for 90 days. The Fort Walton Beach location can house up to 36 people in need and provides families with the resources they need to get back on their feet, secure a job, and afford a home. Receiving this donation of linens from Five Star will help Opportunity Place provide high-quality, clean, and comfortable linens to the women and families living with them.
