Holiday light displays along the Emerald Coast run from the tasteful and elegant Festival of Trees at Grand Boulevard, to the more creative and colorful homes along Destin's Candy Cane Lane. If you are looking for some holiday sparkle, be sure to follow the flashing lights to these over-the-top displays.
Geek Lights on the Corner, a Christmas lights and music show, will run every night from 6:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. (10:30 p.m. on the weekends) until January 2nd. Shows begin on the hour and on the half-hour. Each show runs about 25 minutes. This year, donations will be accepted on behalf of cancer research. Geek Lights on the Corner is designed and maintained by Jeff Werner, author of the popular "It's Geek to Me" column in the Northwest Florida Daily News. This year's display features more than 50,000 lights synchronized to music. Geek Lights on the Corner is located at the corner of Blue Water Bay Boulevard and Antiqua Way in Niceville.
Every year, Sea Oats Drive (off Beach Drive) in Destin is transformed into Candy Cane Lane, as neighbors try to one-up each other for the most festive holiday lights display.
The harbor front neighborhood of Holiday Isle also decorates for the season. Many of these spacious homes and condominiums light up the Harbor. While you can see many decorations from land, the best views are definitely by water.
