The Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Run is a community wide fundraiser for the Seaside Neighborhood School and the Sea Coast Collegiate High School. These public charter schools offer local Walton County students traditional education in a smaller environment supplemented with creative electives like gardening, dance, and an award winning robotics club. The Annual Half Marathon benefits the school's foundation and is one of the hottest race registries in the panhandle, drawing more than 2400 runners for the half marathon and even more for the 5K. This certified half marathon course is mostly flat and very fast. The race starts and finishes in downtown Seaside, taking runners west along 30-A, through Watercolor, Grayton Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach. Spectators will line the streets to cheer on friends and neighbors. While registration for this event closes early, everyone is invited to attend the post-race picnic on Sunday afternoon. The weather will be chilly Sunday morning, so dress in layers as temperatures are expect to rise throughout the morning. If you're heading out to Seaside this weekend, remember traffic patterns will be affected by the race and parking will be at a premium. The race begins at 7:00AM at the Seaside Post Office.
