Celebrate the performing and visual arts and the annual migration of the Monarch Butterfly during Rosemary Beach's Flutterby Festival. Sponsored by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, the two-day outdoor, family-friendly , and free event will feature live music, interactive performances by Seaside Rep, arts, crafts, food and games. The daily Flutterby Costume Parade is one of the event's highlights, and kids have an opportunity to create an decorate their own wings for the procession. The Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) also debuts its 2013 Cottages for Kids Fundraiser this weekend. Local builders have donated their time, talents, and expertise and created whimsical and luxurious play houses. Families are invited to explore and play with the cottages during the Festival and every weekend in November. The cottages will be raffled at the end of the month and two cottages are being auctioned online. The Children's Volunteer Health Network provides free dental, medical, and mental health care to uninsured and under-insured children in Walton and Okaloosa Counties. The organizations mobile Just For GrinsĀ Mobile Clinic provides preventive dental care, like cleanings, X-rays and fillings, at local elementary schools, while the permanent clinic, located in Santa Rosa Beach, provides more substantial restorative care and treatments. The Flutterby Festival is a great opportunity to explore one of the best-designed communities along 30A, and to support two great area organizations.
