30A

"Watercolor, without a doubt, is the single most impressive development I have ever laid my eyes on. I live along highway 30A, where many spectacular communities are nestled. But in my mind, Watercolor sets itself apart.

The neighborhoods are exquisitely planned. The homes of Watercolor exist with foliage carefully wrapped around them, lending it to a feel of oneness with Nature. In fact, all of Watercolor is like that. Parks and trails meander through the lush landscape and walking bridges arch over the stunning Western Lake, a rare dune lake that calls Watercolor its home.

Watercolor is a graceful community with homes that stun with their beauty, yet quiet you with their simplicity. Within Watercolor are over 1000 homesites with Town center buildings and parks throughout. Watercolor is filled with greenery, yet when there, I cannot seem to take my eyes off of the homes themselves.

Western Lake is a dune lake within Watercolor where one can paddle a boat randomly, just for fun, or arrive at the fringe of the Gulf of Mexico, with a purpose. The white sandy beaches and emerald waters of the Gulf meet its Watercolor guests with open arms.

Also within Watercolor is a Four Diamond-rated restaurant, Fish Out of Water, a Watercolor Inn establishment. Stunning Gulf views accompany your meal and add to the fine dining experience there.

Great views are everywhere in the planned community of Watercolor. Shops exist in Watercolor, along with scrumptious eating options, and where Watercolor grounds end, the famous Seaside community begins. Along 30A, the towns of Watercolor and Seaside make up my favorite single spot. To me, it is the soul of 30A.

Watercolor also has a state of the art tennis facility and other options for exercise. And nearby, along 30A, golfing at either Camp Creek Golf Club or the Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club, one can find a challenging outing and certainly an esthetically pleasing golfing experience.

Watercolor has been known to attract some famous visitors, but name dropping aside, you will feel mighty special, too, all wrapped up in Watercolor.

Orvis is a store within Watercolor where one can get fly fishing lessons or a guided trip or both. Adjacent to Watercolor and hugging the western shores of Western Lake, is the spectacular Grayton Beach State Park. The beaches here, like elsewhere along 30A and Walton County, are among the best in the world.

Watercolor is like a painting, only it exists before your eyes in a moving and flowing form that you can’t get enough of. My kids and I love riding our bikes to Watercolor and then taking a spin through the grounds. We travel over the bridges and through the natural foliage and out onto the gazebos where we take in the views of the Western Lake.

On one excursion through Watercolor, my young daughter innocently asked me to buy a house there because she knows how much I love Watercolor. Daddy has dreams, I thought to myself as she made the request. And while some people may dream in color, I dream in Watercolor."
